BCCI Announces 16-Member Squad for Zimbabwe Tour, MS Dhoni to lead team India

BCCI announced the squad for the 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is in Zimbabwe on Monday in Mumbai. MS Dhoni will lead the 16-member team.The squad for the West-Indies was also announced. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will lead a 16-member squad for India’s short limited-overs tour of Zimbabwe from June 11-22. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested. But, Virat Kohli will lead the side for the four-match Test series against the West Indies. Yuvraj Singh, who was part of the Asia Cup T20 and the World T20, has also not been named in the squad.

Surprisingly, many young players have been selected for the first time including Lokesh Rahul, Faiz Fasal,Karun Nair, Rishi Dhawan, Jayant Yadav, Kedar Jadhav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur.

BCCI sources had earlier decided to give rest to the senior players after the long cricket session that’s why so many young players have been selected.
