Police fail to find direction 5 months after miscreants shot at judge’s shadow

Lucknow police continue to grope in dark almost five months after miscreants had shot at a police constable posted in security of a High Court judge. The miscreants also managed to take away the constable’s revolver. The incident took place on November 25, when the constable Pramod Kumar was returning home after doing his duty at High Court judge’s residence at Rajbhawan Colony.
However, since then, the police have neither been able to zero in on the criminals, who opened fire on constable, nor have been able to trace the service revolver.
What has added to further trouble of Lucknow cops is the silence maintained by the constable himself.
The constable continues to stick to his statement that he is not aware who wanted to shoot him dead and why. Those involved in the investigation of the case maintained that the constable’s silence on the issue has made the matter worse.
On November 25, the constable after doing his duty was returning home on his two-wheeler. After reaching Jugauli Railway Crossing, he was waiting for the railway barrier to get open when a youth came near him and shot at him. The bullet hit Pramod’s neck and he fell on the ground.
The miscreant also snatched Pramod’s service revolver and fled on a separate two-wheeler on which another youth was waiting on the other side of the crossing. The incident had created sensation in the state capital. However, as the time is passing day by day, it seems that police would have attach a final report in investigation as they have failed to find any clue.
