A land ceiling officer, his son and his aides allegedly created ruckus after the Land ceiling commissioner refused to budge before their demands to cancel the former’s transfer from Amethi to Ballia at Land Ceiling office at Jawahar Bhawan in Hazratganj area on Wednesday. After the incident, the land ceiling officer fell ill and was rushed to a private hospital, where he is said to be undergoing treatment.
According to reports, Land Ceiling officer Rakesh Pandey who was posted in Amethi was transferred to Ballia. Pandey along with his son and aides came to meet land ceiling commissioner Dr Hariom in this regard. However, the land ceiling commissioner refused to accept his demand. Allegedly enraged over this, Pandey, his son and aides created ruckus and tried to rough up land ceiling commissioner.
The incident created panic in the department and the staff rushed to the rescue of the land ceiling commissioner. The police also rushed to the spot and took both Pandey and his son in its custody. Class IV staff Rajkumar Singh lodged an FIR against the land ceiling officer and his son in this regard. According to police sources, while the investigation was on, Pandey complained of uneasiness and was rushed to a private hospital in Mahanagar area. He is undergoing treatment at the hospital, the police said and added as of now, no action was being taken in the matter.
